Sony Music: 125 Years Of Music History

A mural featuring the name of every artist ever signed to Sony Music and its labels from the foundation of Columbia Records in 1887 to the present day.

Interspersed among the artist names are landmark advances in music related technology showcasing how the company has embraced and in some cases pioneered new technologies from the earliest recording cylinders to the latest streaming services to create an ever closer connection between artists and their fans.

Videos and images of the mural have been viewed over 250,000 times via social media and design blogs all over the world.

The timeline covers more than 150 square metres of wall space in Sony’s headquarters in Derry Street, London. It comprises of over 50 columns, each measuring 2 metres tall.

The timeline continues to evolve, with updates of the latest talent and signings added each year.
